[Symposium] TSS 2024 @ Academia Sinica!

Dear Clinical Practitioners, Researchers, and Professionals Interested in Pain Research,

We sincerely invite you to participate in the 2nd Annual Meeting of the Taiwan Sng Society, TSS 2024, which will be held on November 16-17, 2024, at the Biomedical Sciences Research Institute of Academia Sinica. This year’s theme is “Cross Talk between Sng & Pain.” As precision medicine becomes a global trend, we are excited to host several internationally renowned experts:

  • Dr. John Wood, Academician at University College London, specializes in pain molecular research and has made significant contributions to understanding pain mechanisms and developing new therapies. His research covers the molecular mechanisms of pain perception, providing crucial theoretical support for clinical pain management.
  • Dr. Geoffrey Woods from the University of Cambridge is an expert in pain genetics, dedicated to understanding how genetic factors influence pain perception and treatment. His research helps us better understand individual differences in pain treatment.
  • Dr. Kathleen Sluka, Professor at the University of Iowa , focuses on acidosis-related pain and its physiological mechanisms. She has received continuous NIH funding, including R01 and UM1 grants, and is recognized for her contributions with awards such as the NIH K02 grant and the Distinguished Service Award from the American Pain Society. Recently, she was honored with the 2024 NIH HEAL Initiative Mentorship Award for her exceptional commitment to mentoring early-career scientists in pain and addiction research.

This meeting will provide diverse and comprehensive perspectives, helping you gain a deeper understanding of the interaction between soreness and pain and offering important insights for the future of precision pain treatment. Whether you are a clinical practitioner, researcher, or a professional interested in pain research, we believe you will gain valuable knowledge and inspiration from this unmissable academic event!
